About Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
The film starts with a brief introduction featuring a bald eagle gliding over the mustang's homeland, which resembles Yellowstone National Park, located largely in Wyoming (later in the film, however, there is a depiction of what resembles the Grand Canyon, located in Arizona). There is then a scene showing the birth of a Buckskin Kiger Mustang, who is the main protagonist, Spirit. His mother is known as Esperanza - a palomino mare. His father, Strider, is never shown in the actual movie, although he is seen in photos to be pure black). He grows into a stallion, and assumes the role as leader of the herd. As leader, it is his duty to keep the herd safe.
