The Little Mermaid Surfacing for a Live-Action Film

the mermaid Ariel is a very beautiful girl in the movie.It seems we'll see the mermaid Ariel once more only this time with a real actor portraying her. According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Joe Wright is currently developing a live-action film based off The Little Mermaid fairy tale.

The film will be the first English-language live-action adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, which has been adapted numerous times for both the stage and screen, most notably with Disney's 1989 animated The Little Mermaid film.

Abi Morgan (Brick Lane) wrote the script and it wasn't quite clear if Wright was developing the film to direct himself, or if he would only produce the film.
