I tried to learn as much as possible about how babies learn,in part so that I could help my own baby.My approach was intentionally multi-sensory and interactive,but at first I didn't realize that it would actually work.I did know that Aleka loved to watch the video and interact with  the words.When I thought of the idea of teaching my baby written language,I had no idea that eventually parents around the world would use my approach to teach their babies to read.After I had already been teaching Aleka to read,I briefly tried a different approach where the parent shows thirty words in thirty seconds without giving the meaning or without the child interacting.Aleka and I did not enjoy it as much,so I returned to using my multi-sensory and interactivse method.
